DR JOHN O’BRIEN

John O’Brien is a dentist who had been practising for a little over 20 years as a general dentist, when in 1999 he spent three months at the Orofacial Pain Clinic at the school of dentistry at UCLA in Los Angeles learning about facial pain management. Following this experience he applied for and was granted a position in the two year full-time postgraduate course in Orofacial Pain Management at UCLA, a world renowned program in this specialised field. During his time in Los Angeles he was invited to become an assistant clinical professor in the newly opened Orofacial Pain Facility at the University of Southern California (USC), also in Los Angeles. He subsequently was awarded the status of Diplomate of Orofacial Pain.

He returned to Ireland in 2002 and now has practices limited to orofacial pain management and the management of snoring with oral appliances in Dublin, Galway Clinic, Portlaoise and New Ross.
